General Rules

Boats must be pre-built but can be “fine-tuned” on site.

All Boats are Human powered, Oars and Paddles allowed

Minimum of 2 Crew Members ..Arms and Legs in Boat at all times

Race must begin and end with crew intact

Once the Boat has won 1st it can no longer win 1st again.

CATEGORIES

a. Youth and Teen ages 10-16

b. Adult (ages 17+)

c. Family (Adult and youth combo) can be under 10

BOAT CONSTRUCTION All Boats must be built of corrugated cardboard.

There can be no motors! No metal screw can hold the boat together, the only fastening materials you can use are tape and glue. Duct tape may be used for the seams, but you cannot wrap the boat with duct tape or plastic.

Wood, metal, Styrofoam or other material that would aid in the flotation or make the hull ridged are prohibited.

Hulls may be painted with any “one-part” enamel paint or lacquer paint.

Polyurethane varnish or water sealant is not permitted NO Flex Tape.

Boats should be less than 5 feet wide and less than 8 feet long.

Everything must be environment-friendly(example no glitter, tinsel, etc)

Boats, boat parts and debris must be disposed of by the team after the event.

Note: Boats are subject to inspection and disqualification for each violation of the above general rules.

AWARDS Awards will be given to the fastest times in each category, Special awards will be given to the following: Most Creative, Best Decorated & Titanic Award (best spectacular sinking) Must Register by July 28 email Sandy at recreation@mlanh.org or Text 603-490-5297
